Last Monday our school planted a White Beam tree, which was kindly sponsored by Shane McKenna, Bawn Nurseries. This tree was blessed by Fr. John. Each family took home a tree sapling, which was very generously donated by the Tree Council of Ireland through the Federation of Irish Beekeepers Associations’.
The Chairperson of our Board of Management and well known local beekeeper Mr. Michael Gleeson performed the planting ceremony assisted by Fr. John and some of our pupils. Michael Gleeson gave our pupils a presentation about the importance of trees in the environment.
