Baconstown Boys win Cumann Na mBunscol Final

Baconstown National School claimed the Allianz Meath Cumann Na mBunscol Boys Division 4 Football title with this narrow victory over Castletown.

This was the first game on a six card programme and proceeding got under way at 9.30 at a very wet Pairc Tailteann

Castletown had their fair share of possession in the opening half but it was Baconstown that held a comfortable 2-2 to 1-0 interval lead. Mark Murphy and Rachel Forde got the winners goals while the impressive Aron Monaghan got Castletown lone first half score.

The boys in Green and Gold dominated the second half. Points from Monaghan, Killian Smyth (2) and a great effort from Conor Price narrowed the gap to the minimum. Baconstown broke up field and Cole Flynn pointed to open up a two point gap. With time running out Smyth pointed again but Castletown could not find the levelling score and Baconstown made home with the title.

After the game Rory Fagan was presented with the Boys Division 4 Cup.
